Document Preparation for Work Permit Application
Before embarking on your journey to work as a foreign domestic worker (FDW) in Singapore, it's crucial to ensure you have all the necessary documents ready for the Work Permit application.
- FDW Passport Details
- FDW Personal Information
- Name, date of birth, marital status, and religion
- Passport number and expiry date
- Work Permit number (if applicable)
- Place of birth, citizenship, race, and highest qualification (education)
Document Preparation Before Departure to Singapore
As you prepare for your departure, make sure to have the following documents on hand.
- Printed IPA Letter: This is the In-Principle Approval letter sent by your employer. It is a crucial document to show to the immigration officer upon your arrival.
- Proof of Vaccination: Ensure you bring documentation verifying your vaccination status.
- Printed Flight Ticket: Your employer will provide you with a flight ticket. Have a printed copy ready for reference.
- Highest Education Certificate: Depending on the requirements, you may need to bring your highest education certificate (diploma, high school, university, etc.)
Process
- Sign Employment Contract: Once you've found an employer, sign a clear and mutually agreed-upon employment contract.
- Provide Passport Details: Share your passport details and personal information with your employer for the Work Permit application.
- Employer Submits Work Permit Application: Your employer will submit the Work Permit application on your behalf. Upon approval, an In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter will be issued.
- Receive IPA Letter and Flight Ticket: Your employer will send you the IPA letter and your flight ticket. Ensure you print these documents.
- Departure Preparation: On the day of departure, bring the printed IPA letter, flight ticket, proof of vaccination, and, if required, your highest education certificate.
