I Lost My Work Permit, What Should I Do?

If your Work Permit card is lost, stolen, or damaged, follow these steps to get a replacement.

When to Replace the Work Permit Card

You must apply for a replacement within 1 week of losing or damaging the card. If your card was stolen, you must also file a police report.
Note:
  • If you lost your card while overseas, inform the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) immediately. MOM will issue a letter allowing you to re-enter Singapore.

Who Can Apply

Your employer or appointed employment agent (EA) must apply for the replacement on your behalf.

Replacement Fees

  • Damaged card: SGD 60
  • Lost or stolen card:
    • First time: SGD 100
    • Subsequent times: SGD 300
  • Fees are non-refundable.

Processing Time

  • Most applications are approved immediately.
  • The replacement card will be ready for collection 4 working days after approval.
  • MOM may request an interview if you have lost your card multiple times.

How to Apply for a Replacement

  1. Log in to WP Online (your employer or EA will do this).
  1. Submit the application and pay the required fee using eNETS credit or debit.
  1. If approved, print the card replacement letter, which contains collection instructions.

Collecting the Replacement Card

When to Collect
  • 4 working days after approval.
  • Collection is at MOM Services Centre - Hall C.
  • No appointment is needed.
Documents Required
For lost or stolen cards, you must collect the new card in person and bring:
  • Original passport
  • Card replacement letter
  • Completed declaration form
  • Police report (translated into English if issued overseas)
For damaged cards, someone else (authorized by your employer) can collect the card. They must bring:
  • Authorization letter from your employer
  • NRIC, pass card, or passport for verification
  • Original passport of the MDW
  • Card replacement letter
  • Damaged card

Additional Notes

  • Newly issued Work Permit cards no longer display the employer’s name and address.
  • You can check your employer’s details by scanning the QR code on the card using the SGWorkPass app.
  • If you find the lost Work Permit card after getting a replacement, return it immediately to: Ministry of Manpower, 18 Havelock Road, Singapore.
