If you are a domestic helper in Singapore planning to accompany your employer on a holiday to China, you will need a Domestic Helper Visa (S2). Your employer must apply for this visa on your behalf, following specific requirements and procedures.

Complete the Online Visa Application

All applicants must fill out the online visa application form and upload the required documents.

Documents

Employer

  • Identity card of the employer issued by Singapore Government.
    • Singapore NRIC - front and back
    • Singapore PR with re-entry permit
    • Employment Pass, Work Permit, with SG Work Pass Status
    • Long Term Visit Pass or New Electronic LTVP
  • Passport of the employer.
  • Passport and birth certificate of a child or an elderly who will be taken care of by the domestic helper.

MDW

  • Passport (both original and photocopy of information page and the photo page)
    • At least 6 months of remaining validity.
  • A photograph
    • Color photo taken within the last 6 months.
    • Photo size: 48mm x 33mm
      • Width of head: 15mm to 22mm.
      • Height of head: 20mm to 33mm.

  • Identity card issued by Singapore Government (front and back).
  • Work permit (clear screen capture and photocopy from SGWORKPASS app - Pass Details and My Employment Info)
    • Pass Details - shows the validity and expiry status of your Work Pass
    • My Employment Info - shows employment status and name of employer.

Others

  • The employment contract (both original and photocopy).
  • Proof of residence in China’s mainland (hotel reservation, the Ownership Certificate of House Property of the employer, etc.).
  • Ticket booking (round trip - flight with the name of the helper and employer).
  • Invitation letter (optional)
    • If you are invited by a relevant entity or an individual, the invitation letter should contain detailed information about the applicant, information on the visit including dates of arrival and departure, places that will be visited, etc., and detailed information on the inviting party (with name, address, phone, official stamp, and signature).
    • If staying at a private address, a copy of the passport of an inviting party is required.
  • Further documents may be requested in each individual case.

Preliminary Check & Online Approval

  • Once approved, you will receive a confirmation email.

Offline Submission

  • Bring the following to the Visa Application Center:
    • Visa Application Certificate (attached to the approval email).
    • Original passport.
    • A printed photo (if the uploaded one is unqualified).
    • Signed application form (first and last pages).
    • Any additional required documents (e.g., proof of kinship, house ownership).

Interview Requirement

  • First-time applicants accompanying their employer must apply in person with their employer at the Visa Application Center.
  • The applicant must enter and exit China together with their employer.
  • A consular officer may request an interview at the Visa Office of the Embassy before approval.
